Welcome to our Blog
Hello my friends!!
We are students of the second level of Childhood Education. We study the cognitive, emotional, social and sexual development of children. Also, the autonomy, the habits and the routines. We organise activities for children, such as songs, stories, games,... in English and Spanish.
In this blog, we offer interactive resources in English to use with children. Furthermore, we will prepare some group dynamics and we will also deal with some interesting English speaking countries festivities and customs, such as Halloween, Christmas Holiday, Valentines Day, Easter and Father´s Day and Mother´s Day.
Thank you very much for visiting our blog.

How Frequent is your birthday?
Let's practise dates and numbers with this very nice chart.
Click on this link for further practice
The birth data indicate a "holiday effect" in which there are fewer babies born on US holidays. In particular, in a great instance of statistical irony, there are fewer babies born on Labour Day than would be expected for a Monday in September.

Dear students, this time we are going to think and reflect on the stages of Learning.
First, watch this funny video and try to identify what an average student or teacher would say in each of the 5 stages of learning.
After watching the video, take a look at this interactive presentation, it's quite illustrative of the learning process, now seriously ;-)
The ideas and images for this post comes from David Mearns wonderful blog. His post is worth reading!

What Teachers Make
Dear students, this is a video-listening activity I have just cooked up for you.
Allow me to introduce you to Taylor Mali first. He is a "slam poet". You don't know what slam means? Click on this link and find out what slam poetry is about.
Taylor Mali is one of the most well-known poets to have emerged from the poetry slam movement and one of the few people in the world to have no job other than that of poet.
Listen to his slam poem and do the activity below.
Do you think he has ever worked as a teacher? What's your guess? Why?
Check here if you were right.

TWINKLE, TWINKLE
The English lyrics have five stanzas, although only the first is widely known. The English lyrics were first published as a poem with the title "The Star" by sisters Ann and Jane Taylor (1783–1824) in Rhymes for the Nursery in London in 1806. The poem was written by Jane. It was the theme of the Andante of Haydn's 94 ("Surprise") Symphony first performed in 1792.
